Author William Kennedy got a call from Hunter S. Thompson two weeks ago, complaining about unspecified pains, reports Dennis Duggan. Yesterday, Kennedy talked to Thompson's son, Juan. "He said that his father wanted a church funeral and he had asked that his ashes be shot out of a cannon," says Kennedy. Hunter Thompson was a great companion.
