The media are under fire, and for good reason as far as Robert McChesney is concerned.
"It's failing, and it's failing disastrously," McChesney, a founder of the media reform group Free Press that is hosting a conference in St. Louis this weekend, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in Friday's edition.
More than 2,000 people will be at the National Conference for Media Reform at the Millennium Hotel Friday through Sunday. The goal, organizers say, is to figure out how to fix what's wrong with newspapers, radio, TV and the rest of the news media.
The event is sold out, but events are available online at freepress.net.
